FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Stockton, CA - Representatives from Parents by Choice have announced that the organization has reached an agreement to purchase the Courthouse Plaza building, located at 306 E. Main Street in Downtown Stockton. Close of escrow is scheduled for July 17th. The 68,000 square foot building will become the organization’s headquarters when upgrades and renovations are completed in the Fall of 2020.

Parents by Choice is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2006 and provides an array of services for children and families in crisis, including foster care, mental health and adoption services. The organization currently has offices in Modesto, Vacaville and Stockton and employs 60 people.

With this news, the Courthouse Plaza will feature a variety of programs from child abuse prevention to foster care, transitional housing (for former foster youth), adoption and mental health. Parents by Choice plans to open a coffee shop and boutique on the building’s ground floor - activities which will be operated by current and former foster youth.

Other tenants in the building include a full restaurant, a bagel café, a tailor, two law offices and a church. Parents by Choice has created a Facebook page so the public can follow the construction progress: facebook.com/courthouseplazastockton/

“Our organization has been investigating the suitability of the Courthouse Plaza over the last six months. We’re excited to take this step! This location will allow us to be flexible and creative to meet the needs of the youth and families we serve. We are also looking forward to being part of a revitalized Downtown Stockton.” Tony Yadon, Founder and Executive Director of Parents by Choice.
