Our Vision
PbC's Head Start Mental Health Consultation Services is designed to focus on skills building and support in bonding and attachment to children ages 0-5 who may be at risk of emerging behavioral health problems. Our goal is to reduce stress and build strong and healthy attachments between child and parent or other significant adults. We provide parents with the knowledge of a child’s developmental stages and age-appropriate discipline and communication.
One protective factor is ensuring that families have the support, skills and coaching to cope with life’s everyday trials and support the child to thrive in all environments including at school.
Services
- Conduct assessments with observations in the classroom or in the home
- Create a treatment plan with interventions and strategies to help the child meet their needs
- Facilitate an action plan to support children and classroom staff
- Support caregivers and teachers by giving them tools and resources
- Individual services are provided 1-2 times a week
