Our Small Businesses

In 2020, Main Street Youth & Family Services acquired the Courthouse Plaza in Downtown Stockton. This acquisition was not just a real estate transaction, but a step towards revitalizing Downtown and creating a brighter future for youth in San Joaquin County.

The Courthouse Plaza sits at the corner of San Joaquin and Main Street in Downtown Stockton.  This beautiful building had long been neglected and empty, but beginning in 2020, it began to fill up with customers, small businesses and energy!  Now under the stewardship of Main Street Youth & Family Services, this 70,000 square foot indoor mall has become more than just a property. It has became a symbol of hope and opportunity for youth. Recognizing the challenges that young people often face in accessing meaningful job opportunities, Main Street Youth & Family Services set out to create a dynamic space where these challenges could be overcome. The Courthouse Plaza was transformed into a hub of innovation, training, and mentorship, aimed at providing a wide range of job opportunities for youth.

Main Street Youth & Family Services created "social enterprises," which are small businesses with a mission.  Each of these small businesses, linked below, have their own unique product or service, but they share a common mission - to be a supportive employer for young adults who have faced significant challenges.  Each young employee receives case management, training and support as they prepare for a permanent position in the community.  Since 2020, dozens and dozens of youth have gone on to successful permanent employment outside of Main Street Youth & Family Services.

By providing job opportunities and fostering an environment of growth and learning, Main Street Youth & Family Services continues to pave the way for a generation of young adults who are not defined by their circumstances but by their potential.
