At Main Street Youth & Family Services, our mission is to provide shelter and support to vulnerable children and youth in our community. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and comfortable place to call home, and we work tirelessly to make that a reality. Intensive Services Foster Care (ISFC) serves children and youth who have complex needs that require more support than standard foster care. This program matches foster parents who have received additional training with the child. ISFC uses a team approach for treatment with the ISFC foster parent(s) being vital members of the treatment team. In addition to the parent, Main Street Youth & Family Services provides a social worker and an "In Home Support" staff to provide support. Support from the team can include multiple home visits a week and on-call availability in the case of an emergency. The entire team is dedicated to supporting the family, positively impacting the life of the child and doing whatever it takes to make the placement a success.
ISFC Foster Parents receive additional training and focused in-home support. The monthly reimbursement rate paid to families who serve in this program is more than twice the rate of a standard foster home in order to provide care and life change for these children.
Because of the intensity of the program, our ISFC foster parents need to be experienced in foster care or belong to a professional field that equips them with the knowledge and skill necessary to work with these children. In addition to the knowledge and experience, it is important to have an open heart, willingness to be part of a team, and the desire to care for a child with complex needs.
